How to Translate Subtitles with Vosko

Take absolute control over your translated text. The Subtitle Translator workspace allows you to translate, refine scripts, adjust timeline boundaries, and completely customize the visual styling of your subtitles to match your brand identity.

To try the Vosko subtitle translation service, click [Sign Up] on the homepage. If you already have an account, click [Log In] to access your secure workspace.

Step 1: Upload Your File

Click Upload to import your video or audio file into the workspace.

Step 2: Configure Your Settings

Configure your language pairs by choosing your source and target language. Our engine supports extensive global combinations:

Source Languages: Chinese, Cantonese, English, Japanese, German, Korean, Russian, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, Spanish, Hindi, Indonesian, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Czech, Danish, Filipino, Finnish, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish, and Icelandic.

Target Languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Turkish, Swedish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Korean, Hindi, Arabic, Czech, Greek, Finnish, Croatian, Romanian, Slovak, Tamil, Ukrainian, Danish, Norwegian, Malay, Slovenian, Hungarian, and Thai.

Next, choose your Translation Mode:

Original voice dubbing & subtitles: Clone the original voice into the target language with synced subtitles.

Subtitles only: Preserve original audio and translate subtitles only. (Note: Please select "Subtitles only" for this specific workflow).

Finally, choose if you want to erase original subtitles. Click the Translate button to proceed.

Step 3: Preview the Translation Result

Your uploaded file will start translating. When complete, open the Interactive Workspace. Click the Translated tab above the video and press the play button to preview the results.

Step 4: Adjust the Translated Subtitles

Use the subtitle editor on the left panel to fine-tune your script:

Edit: Click directly on the translated text block in the left panel to activate editing mode. You can manually type your changes to refine the subtitles, or click Re-translate to let the AI generate a new version automatically.

Merge: Select two adjacent blocks and click Merge to combine them into a single, flowing sentence.

Split: Place your cursor inside a text block where you want a break, and click the Split icon to divide it across two timestamps.

Add: Click Add Segment on any empty section of the timeline to insert a new text block manually.

Bulk Replace: Press the word replace button on the upper right corner to instantly find and replace specific character names or technical terms across the entire video script.

Step 5: Adjust Subtitle Styles

Use the Subtitle editing panel on the right side of the screen to customize appearance:

Typography: Select your Font family (e.g., Inter), Font weight, Font size, and adjust Font spacing.

Colors & Outlines: Choose a primary Font color, and apply a Stroke color and Stroke weight to ensure readability against complex backgrounds.

Positioning: Tweak the Subtitle offset (X, Y) coordinates and Alignment percentage for perfect centering.

Step 6: Export Your Final File

When everything is perfect, click the Generate video button. The platform will burn your customized subtitles into the video. Once processed, click the Export button to download the file.
